[iBook] external drive: USB vs. firewire

 From personal experience I have had better luck with the firewire  
drives, I think the external power supply makes it a little more stable.

The USB drives I have tried seem to crash a lot, that could be the  
brand and or firmware issue can not say for sure.

Also the USB Drives I have used have all been laptop drive where as  
the Firewire have been full size.

This also may be a factor.
