It may be that the spill has caused a connection to be made, and that  
the iBook thinks that a key is being pressed. You could try cleaning  
it, letting it dry, and see what happens. (You might even be able to  
narrow it down to one of the few keys that have an effect at startup,  
like Command or Option.)
