Message-ID: Hi Folks, Just joined this list, so I apologize if this has been beaten to death. The airport card in my kids 700mHz crt imac has died. I assume there is no internal alternative, what external alternatives have people had good luck with? I really like being able to move the system around the house without wires. There have been many different iMacs Jim. You'll need to supply more information. I was having a Bluetooth problem and after talking to an Applecare tech, I learned the following... If you have an "incompatible" USB device attached and the computer is shut down, upon restart you will have no Bluetooth capability. See: http://search.info.apple.com/?search=Go&lr=lang_en&kword=&q=300429 and http://search.info.apple.com/?search=Go&lr=lang_en&kword=&q=86496 The immediate solution is to unplug the incompatible device, unplug the computer power cord for about a minute and restart. What makes the device incompatible is not addressed. If it is plugged back in, it will work as a USB device, but if you shut down with it connected, and restart, the Bluetooth module is not recognized. Raymond P Reedy popreedy@comcast.net
