I got that "bogus idea" when I plugged my iPod in to my iBook and it
asked if I wanted to erase everything.

I know four people, including myself, who own ipods.  They all use auto
sync.
There may be 4,000,000 out there who don't.
But picking and choosing several thousand cuts individually doesn't do
it for me.
My music collection is over 40GB and I still haven't added all my Mozart
CD's.
