[iTunes] Deselecting Songs in Library

HAve you tried unchecking the box next to the sing name?
I  have no idea if that's the solution, but worth a shot.

Otherwise, create a smart playlist that selects everything but the spoken
word stuff. (genre is not spoken word). Shuffle & play that.
