iPod 2.0 vs 1.3

Does anyone know of a riks-taking old iPod owner who has made the attempt
to see what happens if they try to use the v2.0 softare disk which comes
with the new iPods on a just-superceded iPod?

Specifically, what message is seen if this "upgrade" is attempted?

Just curious.....but no, I wouldn't try this on my iPod!
