Cube doesn't start

Hi, my name is Arturo and I have a Cube problem... :-)

Ahem.  Every so often when I start my Cube it doesn't start.  The 
sequence of events is

1.  Press glowey button either on Cube or on Apple Display.
2.  Here "Bong!" from computer.  Also a kind of groaning noise which I 
imagine is the
	harddrive starting up.
3.  Wait and wait and wait. 10 minutes, later I hold the glowey button 
down and restart
	just fine.

Any ideas as to why it doesn't start the first time?  Note, this is not 
a sleep problem.
