If they point upward (for better convection cooling) then it's most likely by design....but if they go sideways...then that's kind of a ghetto choice on someone's behalf. (Not that it won't work OK, but it would seem if apple intended for the card to be in a cube, they would at least flip the 'sink to allow for better airflow...if for no other reason than paranoia that it *could* someday pose a problem) jesse .
