I've seen this before- even with iTunes. If the CD is damaged or scratched at all it can cause the system to hang while it tries to mount (or so I assume). I've mostly seen this on the iBooks though. Is there any good way to clean out the slot-loading cube drive? I can imagine plenty of dust finds its way in there.
