Entity Eng Yew Lee spoke thus: > I was told by the Formac folks that AC is passed > through to the Apple Displays and the DC conversion > takes place in the display unit. Eng: I'd say Formac is pulling your sushi. This document: http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Manuals/specs/displays/L261 20A_EN.pdf Doesn't say anything about AC going into the LCD. But it does say 24.5 to 28 VDC goes in at 70watts max. They may have misinterpreted document 30460(original 15" LCD), which states: Electrical requirements: Line voltage: 100 to 120 V AC (200 to 240 V DC) Frequency: 50 to 60 Hz, single phase Power: 30 W (operating) But this seems to describing the power into the PS, and would be wrong to ascribe it to the LCD unit. > Specifically, does having a bigger LCD impose > a greater load on the DC/DC board? Of course, but the PS is rated at 205 watts, which is well above the 70 w of LCD + ~40 w of processor/disk. Apple must have know the Cube would be the hotrodder's delight!
