[CUBE] External DVR-105 SuperDrive With Core In Case Easily Done

I'm no certified computer wiring specialist by no means but...
is it possible to mount a round IDE female connection where the modem  
connection resides under the cube?

This way, you don't have to squeeze the flat IDE ribbon between the  
chassis and the Plexiglas case.
