You guys must have picked up on this a hundred times: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/Graphics/fanless_radeon_Cube_cards.html > Which Radeon do you mean? The Apple OEM ATI Radeon 7500 runs without a > fan and will never die. > I think the question was concerning Apple approved video cards > for the Cube that did not have a fan. The Radeon 7500 has never > been approved by Apple for use in a Cube, fan or no fan. So basically, it is pretty safe to go with a fanless card. Noise is an issue and card fans can be the noisiest due to their pitch and tendency to self destruct. I was looking at the supply of quiet fans from quietpc.com. They have an 80 mm case fan, although it is 20mm high, that kicks out 20 decibels which is probably a lot quieter than the noise that goes on in my head alone. For the folks that have done the processor upgrades, those use both a heatsink fan *AND* a case fan, right? Would it be possible to run it with just the case fan? My guess is no. I have an 800 MHz upgrade in an 9600 tower and it came with a little fan on the card too. How much are those Cube list specials for sale for? Thanks, John
