You can try to hunt down a gamma correction program that would allow you to brighten the output of your display. You can't get too aggressive or you will loose your contrast but at least for OS 9 there were several Gamma control panels floating around out there. As far as OS X is concerned I have no idea as I haven't seen anything along those lines. You might be able to crank up the brightness via an adjustment screw inside the monitor's case but unless you know how to discharge a CRT I would leave it to an Apple service provider. There is the potential for some serious voltage to be hanging around inside that CRT that could send you across the room! Unfortunately, the display is not as bright as I need it to be. There is no external adjustment on the display itself, and System Preferences (10.2.4) shows only a "Contrast" setting, not brightness. I have recalibrated and run Color Sync, but cannot seem to get a brighter setting. When I calibrate the display it flashes through several blank screens and I can see that the display has the ability to be brighter, so it's probably not a "weak tube" hardware problem. Anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks in advance.
