[CUBE] IDVD 3 Patch + iDVD 3 to Disk Image? = External Burning?

What exactly does this patch do?  Where did it come from?  Any idea how 
it works?  The readme suggests doing something _after_ installing iDVD, 
but I can't install iDVD because I don't have a DVR-10x.

I really would love to get my hands on that OWC patch... :(  If nothing 
else, it would let me burn to my friend's SuperDrive-enabled iMac in 
target disk mode, and that would be sweet.
