In response to you inquiries regarding Barracuda Ultra ATA IV and
Barracuda V are 7,200-rpm hard drives accoustic, we must tell you that
both models have Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) motors which makes them
the
world's only virtually silent hard drives. The Barracuda V is a new
model
and it will be the best combination of performance, acoustics and
reliability. There are no significant differences other than the
Barracuda V has a slower transfer rate so it can RAID. The RAID
controller
cards had trouble with a 50 Mega Bytes per Second transfer so it is
slowed
down to 44MB/sec.

about the 8mb buffer. Seagate is producing or will produce an 8mb
barracuda V with a serial ATA interface. This interface isn't
compatible with the cube.
Hope this helps.
