I installed Jag that way just recently without erasing the other partitions.

But I'm wondering what's keeping you from killing everything on the drive,
and start from scratch? I mean, having all that trouble I'd just backup all
my files (from sys 9), reformat the drive and see if that helped.

I wouldn't trust an installation of whatever system on a drive(formation)
that created that much trouble.
