The heat gets sucked out of the machine and everything is well cooled down. My Cube (and the display) stands on a wall-mounted shelf/board, about 10cm above the desktop, and I built a fan into the board right below the Cube. So the Cube gets some additional cooling from the board it's standing on. Quite cool. No modding of the Cube itself, and still nice looking. And sufficiently effective. From normal 42C down to 30C with the fan running at 7V, still down to 36C with the fan at 5V (spinning so slowly, most HDs are louder). So when I can bear the (little) noise I switch the fan to 7V and help my Cube a bit with the cooling job.
