Disappearing OSX and Explorer / Internet Preferences

Hi,


I am sure this must have been discussed before, but a search in the list has
not worked for me.

I keep losing the preferences for Explorer and Internet settings inputted
through the System Preferences pane.  This happens after a log-out or
restart.  I have tried working out where all this is coming from...but no
luck.

OSX 10.2.4

Sound familiar?
