The problem is that "better" is a subjective term. If you are looking for sonic accuracy, you would have to go back and compare to the original masters. Based on what you like, better may or may not be what the artist originally intended. Dolby tends to use sonic tricks to make things sound "better" than the original by increasing intelligibility at the expense of image and spatial information. For many real-world listening environments the tricks that are used are quite acceptable and pleasing.
