I recently upgraded to the Sonnet 1.2. I was thinking of going to the 1.2 Dual Processor PowerMac but decided that I loved the silence of the Cube too much to desert it. The fan in the upgrade package is real quiet. I have an external FW hard drive that is noisier than the Cube with fan. And I only turn it on when I need it. Thank god for Firewire. And of course any time the CD is running it is louder than anything else in the room. Ripping CD's before the upgrade was a 5x to 7x proposition (24X--CD-RW). After the 1.2 upgrade, rips are between 15x to 17x. I have few complaints (with the speed that is). I have been ripping at the 160 rate and have found that to be right for me. My brother rips at 320, but he's crazy. How is it that PC's rip in the mid 20x's? My wife's Gateway consistently rips at 23x-25x. It blows my mind. K-Man, if you ripped 8-10 CD's a day you would finish in less than a year. (assuming you were to go cold turkey and not buy any for that time). I just purchased the latest album from John Scofield from Apple for 9.99 and it took no time to DL. Not only did I say $$$ but also the time to rip it, which equals $$$. Dan
