4.0 had a known issue, apparently a miss-functioning peak limiter, that 
would make audio fluctuate or warble especially during music with a 
high dynamic range.  This would affect all sources of music whether it 
be from CD, MP3 or AAC.

In any case, it now seems completely fixed here.
