Panther & Printing in 10.3

Sorry if this has been posted on the cube site message boards-
I read (somewhere) appletalk will slowly be phased out in favor of the 
other forms of
connectivity (TCP/IP, rendezvous, etc). Apple's site lists the HP5000 & 
Apple 8500 as still
being compatible w/Pather, the Epson SylusColor 3000 is not listed. A 
new driver for the StylusColor 3000
(1 month old) uses "Epson Appletalk" to communicate and is listed as 
compatible on Epsons' site-
Anyone having difficulty w/printers in Panther?
Read a few comments from some posts regarding needing to restart to 
have the printer recognised in X.3
