The main reason for being puzzled...
OS X is running fine on the machine-reboots into 9 as well, classic 
works fine. Dumb thought tho
don't suppose these are emulation files for classic (thus the OS 9 name 
in parenthesis)? This happened
once before (different machine)-don't recall if (OS 9) was visible. 
Fixed by deleting 10.1.something and giving
X a second chance a couple of months later. The updates are what kills
