Nope, Apple goes a long way to protect it business and will sell you memory that has twice the price and is 100% identical to the cheaper. Don't ever expect Apple to tell you that competitor's (and cheaper) stuff will work fine in their systems. Just take a look at the price Apple charges for a run-of-the-shell Pioneer DVD burner, the exactly the same can be bought for 30% less! Apple is not going to tell you that.
