Alan: My .02 cents -- buy an enclosure and a drive separately. I paid $50 for a firewire/usb2 external enclosure. I have the option of popping in CDRW or any IDE hard drive. Look at www.geeks.com for the external enclosure. If you want FW only, its cheaper. Look at www.techbargains.com for cheap drives. I have a CDRW and a 120G drive that I swap back and forth as needed. The enclosure has a noisy fan, but we now know how to find cheap/quiet replacement fans.
