Richard, Yep, has run well for the past 18 months. Very noticeable improvement from stock 450. I use ThermoInDock for temperature monitoring and get temps around 24 DegC (~75 DegF) under normal operation. High CPU tasks, like burning CDs, will crank up to 45 DegC in a hurry. You will need a fan, but there are many quite ones to choose from. It's not noticeable noise if done correctly. If you can get one of these used it may make sense, but I think some of the PL and Sonnett cards that are out now outperform the Dual 500 substantially.
