[CUBE] Gigabit ethernet?

Something else is slowing you down.  It looks like you're getting less than 2Mbps total throughput.  Are there a lot of other traffic on your net?  Unless there is gigabit Ethernet isn't going to help.

Good point, David.

Germ, are you by chance going through a 10Mbps or other shared media 
somewhere in the path between your two machines?

Yesterday I transferred 4GB from one machine to another over WebDAV and 
it took a while - WAY too long at 11Mbps wireless, so I hooked into the 
100Mbps switch and enjoyed a hefty speed increase.
