I use a Kensington Turbo Mouse Pro, which is really a trackball, and is wireless. Works like a charm. I've been using Kensington trackballs for many many years. Don't get their cheap models. A TurboBall I have crapped out after a couple of years, and never worked smoothly, but I have a couple of ADB pro models that are smooth as silk even after 15 years of use. I had to replace the left-switches on them, but that was easy. I've never used a thumbball. I suppose one can get used to it, but the few ones that I have tried weren't easy to use.
