hi,

if I can lend my 2 cents here........CCC is superior for what you want to
do.
it will clone your old HD to your new HD, OS & all.
make the old the source & the new the target.
please be patient it may take up to an hour to complete the clone process.
when its done.....pwr down system, replace your old HD with the new HD.
say a good luck prayer & power up. I'm a systems person on both sides, mac &
pc with over 15 years in IT support. on the pc side we use symantec's ghost.
if you run into any problems.....please feel free to reply to this message.
thx,
carlos

Ken -- facing a similar task, with a WDC 80 GB drive. I found potential
software at http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html in a Google search,
and it sounds tailor made, especially as the author has different version
for different vintage OS X, and because it is free ware/donation ware.

Carbon Copy Cloner

Has anyone else any experience with it? I've not tried it yet, I have to go
out and buy a Firewire external drive enclosure before I put Carbon Copy
Cloner to use.
