CD/DVD repair time

Hey all,

My Cube went to the shop last week to replace the CD/DVD drive. I 
feel lucky; 4 days later and the Apple care expired. Now they tell me 
the drive is backordered by Apple. Anyone have any recent experience 
with this vis-a-vis how long it might take?
