OT: Mac Mail Quits on Launch...

I erased the HD in my TiBook to get rid of OS 9, and install OS X.ii... 
Went through all the updates to X.ii.viii, and then repaired 
permissions [They were very trashed]... Mac Mail would not launch 
before or after permissions repair... When I attempt to launch, it gets 
into the importing mailboxes phase and then quits every time at the 
same point...

Ideas?...

Oh, yeah... Entourage works just fine :^/...
