Ken, Pressing alt key when booting will take effect only if you've got both systems installed in different partitions. If you're not able to boot from a bootable CD (OS 9 or X), I'd try zapping PRAM: hold down simoultaneously command+alt+P+R when booting and let your Mac chime twice. You may then depress all keys and see if it boots 10.3.8. How will you be able to determine if there's a system 9 properly installed in your Cube? Open System Preferences and choose 'Startup Disk' pane. See if it finds a classic system 9 in your computer. Hope this was helpful. It wouldn't start - got a floppy question mark image. So, I tried to go back to OSX 10.3.8, by holding down the option key, but no luck - the start options shown were only the hard drive, not an operating system choice. How do I get it to start in OS X?
