Thank you one and all for your suggestions.

My wife got the CD out.   She did it with the unit "cold" before it had a
chance to warm up, right after she cold booted the Cube.

One of you suggested slipping a business card down the side where the
AirPort Card is housed.  I'll give that a try this weekend.  I'm off Sunday!
