Hi Rick, These are my Cube specs running flawlessly for almost 3 years: Mac OS 10.4.10 | PowerLogix PowerForce 7447A Dual 1.7 GHz CPU + CHUD Tools v3.5.2 + NAP Settings ON* | 1.5 GB SDRAM | Samsung Spinpoint 7200 RPM 160 GB HDD [2 MB cache] | NVIDIA GeForce2 MX GPU [32 MB] + Spirica Extended Heatsink | Apple VRM + Spirica VRM Heatsink | Panasonic DL SuperDrive | Zalman ZM-OP1 Fan [7V] | Apple 17 LCD [ADC] | Apple iSight | Apple Pro Keyboard & Pro Mouse [black/original] | Harman/Kardon SoundSticks II | Griffin iMic [rev. B] *CHUD Tools v3.5.2 software with NAP Settings ON will reduce overheating problems and does almost the same PowerLogix CPU Director software does (except for monitoring temperatures). There is some controversy concerning the coolest GPUs for the Cubes using both VGA/ADC connectors but I'm pretty satisfied with mine, a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX pulled from a G4 tower. LM >>>rmansfield at mac.com 07/24/07 3:06 pm >>> If I can jump into the conversation here, let me ask about the heating issue. I've got a new-to-me Cube and would like to upgrade both the processor and the video card. I've wondered if heat might be an issue since I don't want to shorten the life of what is already a seven year old computer. What is the overall consensus regarding the heat issue? Does it matter? Are there any external means of keeping a Cube cooled? Thanks, Rick -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
