regarding the HD in the new “Mini”.

Here’s what I found:

Providing capacious storage in a slim form factor, Toshiba MK8025GAS 80GB
2.5-inch hard disk drive is an ideal solution for mobile computing and
consumer electronics. With an a real density of 64.8 gigabits per square
inch and a super slim package measuring 9.5mm high, Toshiba's MK8025GAS hard
disk drive accommodates the storage needs of multi-functional mobile PCs and
other applications, such as telecommunications products, printers, copiers,
GPS systems and MP3 players.

Features:

* 80GB capacity
* Rotational speed of 4,200rpm
* 12ms Average Seek Time
* 8MB Buffer
* 9.5mm High
* 2.5" sized drive
* ATA-6 Interface
* Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) motor drive
* 100MB/sec Transfer Rate
* 300,000 MTTF Hours
* One year manufacturer warranty

While all this is fine, the 4200 RPM rotational speed is going to make the
“Mini” feel more like a slower G4. Note that this IS a sub $500 computer.
Not a bad thing ... Just remember the market segment this is designed for.

Just my 2 Cents worth ...
