[DigiCam] External Mic for Sony TRV950

Hi - anyone any suggestions for a good external mic to clip into the
accessory shoe on this camera? I'm looking for stereo, and ideally a way to
switch between wide-angle pickup and narrow/forward pickup.  Price range?
Well, under $300 would be nice, but if necessary I'll skip the wife's
present this year ;)
Need to sell the wife? Good grief - it had better ship with a big sticker
saying "professional model". Cheers.
