Reading photo CD

A friend asked me to print some photos. They are on a 156 MB 8cm CD 
from a Sony CD Mavica 250 Digital Camera.
My Mac does not see the CD, Have tried built in CD-ROM and External 
CD R/RW with Adaptec direct CD neither will mount the CD.
Do I need some SW driver to read the Cameras format? Can someone 
point me to it?
Computer is a Mac 7500 OS 8.6. Have browsed the Sony website and 
tried google but no joy yet.
