Alternate Batteries & Hard drives

So in looking at both the 2400 and 2300 the biggest problem is the 
battery, or a lack of good ones specifically. I looked at the unit 
offered by Provantage.com (someone on this list mentioned it) but the 
one made for the 2400 isn't compatible with my Titanium.

I'm wondering if I could rig an adapter cable so the external battery 
made for my Ti would work on a 2400 (or 2300). Are there any issues I 
haven't considered that would make this impossible?
