Bikes have given me as much fun as little mac laptops. I had a 77 sportster 1000, Harley till a year ago... now all i have is a rusty rolling chassis of a Triumph. I better not get an orange clamshell to go with the rust :-) I found the 2400 i/o board at PBparts ( I think) but it was $200 !!! maybe it is the fuse ..or something else... the green light come on the moment i put the battery back in after a reset. Not starting up at all. I have a friend here who can do the board level work and i was jsut talking about cardbus enabling the 2400 with him. He does design for and upgrade chip manufacturer and he build robots. so if i could do the troubleshooting he could do the soldering.. but i think that Dtt sounds like a better deal. I am just wishing i had a G3 for it. SO i am waiting. I could end up with another 2400 to combine... that seems a good option too. funny who we have two GLOD threads going... hope it is not a trend. thanks everyone,. > > I tried the two different PM resets from Sidney Ho's >> page at Mac2400 site. >> > >If you tried all the reset steps and no luck it does >look like a power board problem. > > >> no luck, no startup green light comes back and stays >> steady. >> --- >> > >?????? light is on or is not on? >it does make a difference. could be as easy as a >fuse, or worst case a dead board > >if you don't want to or don't have the ability to >repair yourself $150 is cheap way to go. > >The G3 is nice but if you are happy with the way it is >now, don't spend the money. > > > >> This is a stock 2400 in very nice shape with 80 mb >> ram and a 10gb >> toshiba drive (from ti-book). >> i don't have a g3 in it. but i do have a 2nd battery >> and a nice >> wireless card and a dockking staiton for it >> >> DTT , Brian, says he is 99% sure it is the I/O >> board.
