2400 display software problem

Dear Gurus,
	I found my display, an apple 15" studio display and it works like a
dream - except one weirdness. My 30g 2400/240 hd is partitioned into 7.6.1,
8.6 and 9.1. When I loaded the apple displays software version 1.8, it
worked fine on 8.6, provided a modest version on 7.6.1 and crashes whenever
I tap the monitors and sound cp on 9.1.
	I've done a conflict test and the implicated files seem to be the
displays software only. What's wrong with this picture?
