A solution for the screw covers that works pretty well:

Find that 1.5 mm thick craft foam and use a hole puncher to create small
foam discs. Get the matt black foam sheet. The stuff is 8.5 x 11 and very
cheap. It comes in all colors and usually in multiple sheets.

You just push them into the hole with the end of a pencil. Just keep it
level and don't push it in all the way. Just leave it flush.
