Free software to expand an .smi file?

Does anyone know if there is free software to expand
.smi files,that I could download to my 2300c via the
internet? I downloaded Disk Copy 6.3.3 from the Apple
support website, but I have no software to expand it.
It seems that a lot of upgrade software requires a
newer version of Disk Copy than is on my 2300c with OS
7.5.3 ver 2.
