OS 8.6 or 9.x?

Any OS 8.x will be faster than 9.x on a stock 2400c CPU, for a multitude of reasons. I remember
upgrading to 9.0 and it was slower, but offered a lot more features and something that I *had* to
have - multiple language support out of the box.

Upgrade to 9.1; then, if it doesn't seem snappy enough for you, look into CPU upgrades or faster
hard disks.
