[Duo2400] 280c modem trouble

Hi Brad:

You should really find out what brand of modem you have. That will tell you
if you need Apple's software (I think) or Global Village's software
(extension and control panel). If the plastic around the modem jack is
black, you have the Global Village modem, and you should get the PowerPort
500 software from ftp.globalvillage.com (or I could probably send it to
you)...

I'm not familiar enough with Apple's Express Modem, so I can't help you with
that.

Another thing is: have you plugged the modem into a Digital phone line? Like
at a hotel or at a business office? If so, you've probably blown the modem,
and it will need to be replaced. You can check it out with pretty much any
terminal software (I'm partial to Zmodem, but...)

There has been lots of discussion about Duo modems, so search the
archives...
