While others on this list may have found different uses for the PC 
card slots in their 2400's, when I had mine I needed it for a network 
card (wireless and ethernet) and a modem card. I suppose others could 
get a usb card, etc...

ALL of those functions in addition to firewire, are built into my 
iBook. Can't say I miss the 2400 at all. MAYBE evernow and then the 
heft of my 14" iBook is a pain, but now that gap has been narrowed 
with the new smaller ibook.
