Is "subcompact" actually a useful common thread between a G4 PB using _only_ OS X and Duos and 2400s using OS 9 or earlier? Would the topics a 2300c user and a 12" G4 user share be about more than just their size? Exactly what sort of other-than-size discussion is envisioned? I think the two are pretty far apart. I'm very much enjoying the discussion here about the newest small PB, but I can't see where the topics usually read on the G-books list would be of much interest to Duo/2400 users and visa versa. The two groups share virtually nothing, no common external ports, they've very different OSes and hardware, machine-specific troubleshooting techniques are very different, etc. My vote would be to keep the Duo/2400 focus, but perhaps continue to be tolerant of list member's yearnings for modern computing equipment. Maybe add the 12" G4 as an honorary Unofficial-List-Topic or something? I just think y'all (we'all) don't want to lose list-friends as they retire their old 'Books and head off into modern computing, lost forever to "The friendliest place on the net!" (sentiments with which I agree , of course!) Hmm, maybe users of "Small PBs" are of a "certain stripe" and need to herd together? Could sociological factors be considered part of a "concise focus"? : >) Dan K <J>(lusting for . . . well, actually not lusting for anything on-topic (is Ashley Judd on-topic?)) </J>
