Wow, that must be nice brandy... Tom: DNS servers are free to all, so I am actually using a list of root dns servers a friend gave me because the qwest dns servers were slower. The only thing an ISP provides when it comes to DSL is an email accoutn and a few megs of web space (at $20+ a month). The ISP are not neccisary for connection, and the dns servers are provided by quest, or others... (like I said I use the root DNS servers) does that answer you questions? If you wanted to host a domain, a static IP is another $5 a month... but with a router it rarely changes, and is good enough for loose server purposes (especially with a power backup for the router). In addition I got my first bill from quest today, and due to a promotional deal I am only paying for the passthough each month ($8) for the next six months; (although it was about $50-70 for installation, Ill have to look) Best, Nathan Elliott ------------------- > > Get a staic IP if you want to host your OWN Domain! > I have Sbcglobal in Los Angeles with 2 static IP's for my servers.
