External monitor not recognized by 2300c

Howdy folks,

I just got a "new" external monitor, a 12" RGB, to use
with my Duo 2300c and Ultra Dock 16sce. Everything is
plugged in and turned on, but my Duo doesn't seem to
know that the monitor exists. The monitor just sits
there with a blank dark blue screen. I have used
another monitor with the same setup, and it worked
fine. Any idea what the problem could be?
