[Duo2400] Squirrelly trackpad

This is a well-known problem with the Duo 2300c and some other old PowerBooks, especially for folks with sweaty fingers.  Back in 1996 Apple came out with the "Trackpad Climate Control" extension to take care of it.  If you cannot find it on the Apple Support website, please write me off list.
