Tom, Welcome to the club ~_^ I had the same problem- no chime, HD would spin up, and would respond to 3 finger salute. Same problem as you? I can tell you that it's NOT the main battery and the PRAM battery. I replaced those, reset PRAM and tried every finger-combo at start up that you can name. I thought that (somehow) the power manager had gotten corrupt since the original user's battery had leaked a bit, and hadn't powered the unit on in years. I ended up replacing both the IO board and the motherboard at the same time, since I wasnt sure of which it would be. I beleive it was just the IO board; just havent had the time to open it back up and put the old IO board in to test it. At least the trial and error gave me the healthy experience in taking apart and putting a 2400c back together.........about 7 times!! > Date: Sun, 01 Feb 2004 01:15:33 -0700 > Subject: [Duo2400] 2400 and White Screen at start up > From: Tom Seid <t.seid at comcast.net> > Message-ID: <BC4203B5.68A2%t.seid at comcast.net> > > I have a stock 2400 that GLODED, and have been able to 'fix' it to the > extent that the computer begins to start up, but only to a white screen.
